Wilderness Damaraland Camp is set in a dramatic, moonlike landscape characterised by flat-topped mountains, wind-sculpted sandstone cliffs, broad valleys and dry riverbeds. Here, the renowned Torra Conservancy is the result of a pioneering Namibian community partnership. Experience enriching cultural interactions with the community at their nearby farmsteads, as well as Twyfelfontein’s astounding San rock.
Guests have an array of exhilarating desert adventures to choose from. Activities include immersive nature drives searching for the desert-adapted elephants, and other wildlife, as well as guided walks discovering the unique wildlife, birds and reptiles of the desert. Further afield, ancient rock art and geological wonders dot the area at Twyfelfontein. Back in camp, guests can have a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear pool, share the day’s adventures around a traditional outdoor boma and dine under a star-studded night sky.
Damaraland Camp’s inviting main area has a sparkling pool to cool off in, an open campfire, and a traditional outdoor boma for evenings of cultural cuisine, song and dance, canopied by countless stars. Ten elevated adobe-style thatched suites with large decks invite unimpeded vistas across the expansive plains of the Namib Desert.
